AIR ASSIST PAINT SPRAYING EQUIPMENT

Air assist paint spraying equipment is sometimes considered across between an airless and an hvlp spray system.

Below you will find information regarding air assist sprays. If you need advice pertaining to other paint sprayers or would like to learn how to apply paint with a sprayer, then check out the paint sprayers page to assist you with your spraying requirements. If on the other hand your looking for other decorating or home improvement information, maybe some painting basics or project ideas then click on the home link at the bottom of this page. By reading the text on the home page, you should find the information that your looking for.
AIR ASSIST PAINT SPRAYING EQUIPMENT DESCRIPTION
An air assist uses hydraulics to push paint from a pressure pot to a spray gun. Air is added at the gun so as to atomize the paint into a very fine spray. An air assist has the speed of an airless along with the high quality finish of an hvlp (high volume low pressure) sprayer.

WHAT'S GOOD ABOUT AIR ASSIST PAINT SPRAYING EQUIPMENT
Having the ability to coat items quickly, yet at the same time not loosing quality of finish is the number one advantage of an air assist spray system. Air assists also use less materials than other sprayers, which is not only good for the pocket book but better on our environment. Also, some air assists come with a laser to tell you when to adjust the distance and angle of the gun (closer, farther away, up or down etc.) when spraying.

WHAT'S BAD ABOUT AIR ASSIST PAINT SPRAYING EQUIPMENT
An air assist paint sprayer in my view has only two disadvantages, number one being cost. An air assist system can run you any ware between $8000 and $15,000 and the guns can be priced in the thousand dollar or more range. Another problem is size, an air assist would not be considered small by any means.

SUMMERY

If you intend on doing a lot of high production spray painting for profit then air assist paint spraying equipment may be for you. If on the other hand your projects are on smaller size stick to the conventional, hvlp and airless spray systems.
