Paint sprayer has a pulsating spray when in use

My gun pulsates as I apply paint. Is there a fix?

Hi Dave,

Since I can't actually see your paint sprayer (pump) in action I'll give you a couple of suggestions.

First up, and the easiest thing to do, is check the intake hose. Reason being is the hose that's sucking up the paint may be partially plugged somewhere.

Second, the gun needs a gun kit (not likely though).

Third, and very plausible is the sprayer has a piston (the suction) with packings (seals) around it. Either of which may need replacing.

Finally, but most likely, is an electronic board (one that controls the pumps spraying) has malfunctioned and needs to be replaced.

Most paint sprayer manufacturers have free on-line downloads if you don't have the manual for your particular pump. Use your sprayers model number (on their website) to get your manual. The manual, usually, shows you how to replace the packings etc.

Otherwise, if your not comfortable doing repairs, then you will need to use the yellow pages to find a paint store that fixes your type of paint sprayer.

Shawn.
