BRUSHES
The number one tool in the box besides the conversion table metric is the brush. There are hundreds of different kinds to choose from don’t buy a cheep one or it’ll only cause you grief.

ROLLERS
Rollers and covers (or cage/sleeves) come in a verity of different naps (height of the fabric) if you buy lint free you'll be happy as can be ( I‘m sure I could be a rapper).

LADDERS
Talking about ladders and scaffolding may seem a little dry for some people. I close my eyes when I read this section (was that a giggle).

Even so there are things you should know on your way to the top.

OTHER/TOOLS

PAINT & WATER SPRAYERS LINK

APPLYING
Knowing how to use a paint sprayer is important for doing a quality spray job.

Need some experience spraying, then this is the area of the site that will teach you how.

SPRAY/PRODUCT
Just about every type of paint can be sprayed on. The trick is knowing how to thin the product, what spray tip to use and which machine works best with each coating material, (you might need a conversion table metric for this task check out CHARTS).

Airless
This is the work horse in the sprayer world. The airless comes in a variety of sizes. If you want to blow on some tar there’s a sprayer made for you.

HVLP
High volume, low pressure. This sprayer is for doing fine woodwork. I use one when I lacquer doors, banisters, and window casing in a new home.

CONVENTIONAL
I love this system and it’s the one I learned to spray with. All you need is a cup gun and an air compressor.

It does have its drawbacks. (So long ozone layer is # one.)

TAPING
Learn about the different types of masking and how to properly tape out a room. When cutting in or spraying, you’ll need to know the fastest way to cover the air looms.

DROPS
Need to know how to drop (protect) a room properly. I’ll let you in on a little secret for replacing some of those expensive drop cloths.

PAPER
I use a masking machine whenever I’m spraying, they are a very handy little tool. If you don’t want the expense you can still use paper rolls and tape. If you are spraying look at the CHARTS section of this site for your conversion table metric.

PLASTIC
Plastic comes in long wide rolls and works great for bagging a house (covering walls). This link will show you the fastest way to put the plastic up.
