Can I paint/ or dye a golf
club head cover

by Janet

Hi there, I was wondering if I could get some help with my project.

I am attempting something quite ambitious; the fabric is similar to a "cordouroy" fabric and it is BLACK in color.

I would like to either paint or dye over this black color to change it. It is a very small area/about a 2" diameter (circle).

My project is a golf club headcover, I am painting/dyeing it prettier colors. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I should mention that it is very important that the fabric doesn't change. The touch/feel component should not be different than before the job was done. :)

Hi Janet,

Fabric paint would change the feel of the fabric, so using a dye would be your best bet.

Im no expert on dye but Im thinking that dying a black colored fabric would be almost imposible.

Your more than likely going to have to dye a white peice of fabric (the way that you want it) then sew it in place.

Check out this web site Rit Dye you should be able to contact them for help with your dying project.
